O.D.G. Plant Hire (our in-house plant company) has an extensive range of operated and non-operated plant which caters for our in-house needs on groundwork projects.

The plant holding is regularly added to both through the in-house design and development of innovative plant to meet special needs, such as the use of electric and radio controlled excavators and the purchase of state-of-the- art equipment from the world's leading manufacturers.

All plant is serviced on a regular basis and is maintained operational from day to day by our mobile fitters/welders. The age and condition of all items of plant is periodically assessed and replaced as necessary in order to ensure that the plant fleet remains reliable and up-to-date.

All plant equipment, both mechanical and non-mechanical is logged, checked and tested in accordance with current legislation. In addition, all plant operators are certified under the Plant Operatives Certificate of Training Achievement Scheme and receive Safety Induction Training upon arrival at each new project.

Transport

The Transport Division operates a fleet of vehicles fitted with computer tracking, radio and cellular telephones which meet the everyday demands of the Company.

The Division consists of light vans, medium and large flat-bed lorries. Many vehicles are fitted with specialist equipment such as hydraulic cranes and demountable bodies.

The cost effectiveness of all vehicles is constantly monitored and new techniques and technology are introduced into the fleet on a regular basis.

All drivers receive regular instructions on safety, courtesy on the road and route efficiency.

Great emphasis is also placed on the need for them to comply with vehicle specifications and to ensure that every effort is made to minimise the impact of their vehicles on the environment.
