An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Civils/Structural Design Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Senior Design Manager and coordinating the design deliverables in accordance with the design management plan.

Duties to include but not limited to:

• Work in accordance to the project design management plan
• Assist the design manager with their duties
• Maintain and update and trackers, KPIs and outputs as required by the design manager
• Attend design team meetings and ensure accurate records
• Manage the document controllers and document control process
• Coordinate with the project design programme and designers schedules of deliverables
• Effectively communicate with and contribute to the team during the construction periods
• Provide the link between the project team and the design team
• Manage the interface between different design packages and supplier design
• Monitor and manage the design period to control costs and ensure client approval
• Liaise with Third Parties critical to the design process (including but not limited to Statutory Authorities, Utility Providers, Planning Authorities) ensure their requirements are understood, communicated and any obligations discharged to maintain compliance and programme
• Ensure the project BIM requirements are understood and implemented by the design team and BIM protocols are in place and manage the clash detection process
• Provide timely and accurate reports explaining the progress of work and critical issues in the design period, with a clear plan of action
• Plan, organise and lead the Design Team Review meetings and ensure accurate meeting minutes
• Undertake other duties commensurate with the level of this position
• Manage the designer and consultant relationships, helping to support with designer selection and potential pipeline
• Comply with action allocated on the design risk register
• Comply with Company polices & procedures

Experience required:

• Degree or Diploma in Civil or Construction
• Experience in Civils, Structures and rail background
• Commercial acumen
• IT literate (CAD skills desirable)
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Planning and Programming skills
• Ability to work under pressure
