An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Temporary Works Designer to join our team in Enfield. The successful candidate will be responsible for the production of temporary works designs, supervision of temporary works designers, management of external temporary works designers and assist the Engineering Director in further development of the temporary works department.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on skills and experience

Duties to include but not limited to:

• Develop the in-house temporary works capability of the business
• Preparation of temporary works designs including calculations, drawings, designers risk assessments and raising the necessary design certificates
• The designs would include but not be limited to Formwork and falsework, excavation support, working platforms, earth retention structures and access scaffolds
• Providing support/advice to the estimating department to enable pricing of temporary works requirements at tender stage
• Providing technical advice/support to the various companywide site operations
• Identify temporary works value engineered opportunities to reduce cost and or add value to the projects
• Obtain and manage any necessary independent design checks
• Assist the engineering director with continuous improvement and review of the companies temporary works procedures
• Reviewing and checking of sub-contractors designs

Experience & qualifications required:

• Awareness of all key health and safety legislation
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of:
• Construction techniques
• Design management practices
• Experience in temporary works design
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Ability to lead a team
• Effective communicator
• Ability to be authoritative
• Chartered Civil Engineer
• CSCS card
